Hakuna Matata...

Yahoo! Totally fun day yesterday....after work (thank you, computer problems for making my afternoon an internet-surfing extravaganza) I met Z down in Gastown, where I work, and we were on our way to find cheap clothes when we ran across an amazing Antique store! Omigosh, we're talking a whole floor full of drawers, antique stamps, homemade journals, old scrapbooks full of Elvis newspaper clippings, a super-old photo album from back when pictures were mounted on a really thick cardboard material...wow...wow. I can't stop talking about it, and we only had 5 minutes in there before they closed, so I'm dying to go back and dig around for a few hours. (sigh) Had McDonald's in the movie theatre while finally seeing "Transformers"...I have no nailpolish left because I was totally biting my nails the whole time...and holy schmokes, that movie was pretty well done...I can't imagine animating those guys!! Anyways, glad we finally saw it on the big screen!

Sooo...today, I made breakfast (Z always makes breakfast, thought I owed him one) lol..drank a ton of yummy coffee, Z is on the beach making a little film with Ian, and I'm watching the Lion King and scrapping. Yeahh...such a cool day when my only worry is "which movie should I watch next?"..lol...And I shouldn't have said in my last post that I wasn't scrapping for myself...I always scrap for myself...it's just frustrating when you have to use certain stuff sometimes, ya know? Anyways, here's some goodies that I made just for me, poured them out of my little heart...made me happy and free:

(this one's my fave...did it for a challenge at Sistv...you can check the poem out here)

Some pink sugar pop cuteness (a little card):

I'm in love with this page, too...(and I can't stop scrappin the cute pic of me and Z) It's for a challenge at Sis, also..."What you do in a day"...it's a silly page: "got up. went to work. thought of Z. drank coffee. Worked on a few scenes. Thought of Z"...lol...but it's cute....

...anyways, we're also super-excited about This Trick 17 Stop-motion festival Z found yesterday...you get a team, make a film with a topic they give you in 3 days! Pretty sweet...we, of course, both haven't done stop motion, but I've been dying to learn and we're crazy animators, so we're always up for not sleeping for a weekend and making a film..lol...yay!! So excited! Shopping tommorrow...happy happy! Have a cool weekend, everyone!

Wow I have so many responses to your great post. First of all, the Lion King rocks and so does the song Hakuna Matata! I hope you get to go back to that Antique store on your lunch break or something. I think I need to start antique shopping now. People are always finding incredible things in those stores.

You always seem to have the cutest pictures to scrap. I love seeing them all. That love lo is super sweet!

WE have a 48 hour film thing that is similar to your 3 day festival. Except ours in SF is film, not animation :(. It sounds like you and Z will have a blast! I love stop motion animation and you probably will too. It can be a little frustrating at times but totally worth it in the end. I prefer it to 2d hand drawn animation. I'm so happy I have another animation friend to be able to talk to!
