Some Lovely Tags (RAK)!

Sooo...Happy NSD to all you scrapbookers out there!!

What is NSD, you say? National Scrapbook day! Oh, that's right...there's a day...
I'm totally missing Calgary right now cuz my mom, sister and I used to pack up all our scrap stuff and hang out at the local store all day long - buying goodies and making stuff together...=)

So anyways, there's a ton of stuff goin on around the web everywhere! Over here, there is a fab giveaway from the lovely Veronica Milan of Shabby Chic Crafts...she sent me some of her yummy paper tags and is funding a lovely RAK here just for NSD! =)

So here's the project I made with some of her tags - I found a really cool vintage receipt book at the last flea market we went to, and thought it would make a fab mini book! So I used, of course, the Shabby Chic Paper tags, those cute Fall pictures my mom took of my sister and I, and threw some Sassafras in there for good measure...he he...
There's no journalling in it yet, I was too little to remember the stories behind the pictures, so I'll have to ask my mom one day and fill the rest of the book in! It's nice and simple..just some paint splashes and paper tags. =)

Anyways, If you wanna win this lovely pack of goodies:
(Cute, hey?) Just leave a comment here! You have until the end of the day Monday, May 5 to put your name in for the draw! And if you're feeling celebratory, tell me what part of scrapbooking is your favorite! =)

There are a ton more cool Guest Designers and giveaways at the Shabby Chic Blog, and check out Veronica's Etsy shop, too!

As for me, I have to say thanks a ton for all the sweet comments about the job and Red Velvet! You guys rock! I'm caught up in color troubles on the freelance project, but it's coming along...it was actually really cool to be back at work at the Studio yesterday! I'm always amazed when I remember how to use a computer program I haven't touched in a few months..lol...and today is a much-needed scrap day: one of the last before animation busy-ness to get all my projects done! So there will be goodies to share soon! Yay!

And remember, leave your name to win those yummy tags!! Happy day!

Those are great tags!! My goal for the summer is to go back to scrapbooking - I've been making cards instead. Your post reminded me that I don't necessarily have to go the traditional route with a scrapbook. Love it!

happy NSD to you!!!

Love that little receipt mini!

My favorite part about scrapbooking?? Well, I'm a photography major and plan to be a photographer career wise... but I've always been artsy and crafty, always drawing and things like that - I just never could connect with anything, like painting or pottery, etc. until I came across collage work.... and suddenly it clicked! You add a photo to it and I'm in heaven! And then I kinda stumbled on scrapbooking and I got to use my own photos and that was even better. So scrapbooking pretty much answers my ultimate creative needs! heh, long answer!

Happy NSD!! What do I like best about scrapbooking? Getting my memories down on paper. I am SO forgetful that I love to scrap things when I remember them, so they are around for my daughter forever. :P (How sappy is that? heehee)

I don't know if you would be interested but I am heading up a scrapbooking project where each month each person creates a 8x8 scrapbook page in a certain theme and then we put an 8x8 album together and donate it to different organizations... Valley Children's Hospital, Veterans, Women's Shelters, etc. Email me if you are interested.... hfblessings@yahoo.com

This mini turned out precious! I think your mom journaling in it will be a great final touch :) My fave part of scrapping: turning a sheet of paper into something nobody else can do the same way as you!

the part where I actually get to do it is my favorite!! :-)

My fave part of scrapbooking is knowing that I am preserving precious memories for my son.
My mom passed away when I was a teenager leaving no scrapbook, journals or even dated pictures behind, so when my son was born I decided I could not do the same.
Happy NSD

I have three favourite bits about scrapping - buying all the pretty stuff, then the pure joy of creating and then finally the looking back and remembering the stories.
