hello all!

....what's new? I sadly have no pictures to share today...I took one of my new shoes last night but my usb stick wouldn't let me bring it to work today....=) Shopping was fun, so fun...will share my finds soon...got a pair of cute black DC skaters, and am super happy to throw my old runners out...=) Been listening to lotsa Regina Spektor at work, and also Tegan and Sara...have had a ton of work so it makes the day fly by, thankfully, no last minute deadlines to add to the stress, though...whew! I signed up for the Red Velvet ornament swap...mostly cuz I love happy mail and I need some sort of deadline to get some made for my skully tree, anyways...have christmas card ideas in the works...I want nothing more than to sit inside drinking peppermint hot chocolate and sewing felt things right now...=) such a simple girl, I guess...I went shopping at Create My Keepsake last night in a moment of weakness: they got the new KI lace paper that everyone's been dying for, and also Basic Grey figgy pudding was calling to me...he he...annnd..that's about all that's new...The suspense will be gone, soon, promise!! he he...

Oh! And Tina made me think I should've explained the set pictures down below..he he...cuz most of you don't know how animation is done...for Stop motion, it involves building real, dimensional sets out of paper or plaster or other materials. You also build small figures to animate, whether they're made of clay, plaster, etc. You then set up a camera aimed at the set with the character in it, set up for the kind of shot you want...and then you proceed to move/animate your character by moving it slightly, taking a picture, moving it slightly, taking a picture...you get the idea....it can be incredibly painstaking, but results in great texture and realism onscreen, I think...I think I just did it no justice with that explanation...lol...But when you think about films like this:

..and this:

...it's seriously stunning how much work goes into them. If you ever have a chance to watch the "making ofs" on any stop-motion film, go for it! You'll never look at it the same again...=)

I hate when impulse buying takes over. I bet you've got some cool goodies though! I found the Love Elsie Zoe line at my LSS and went a little overboard. Its got cameras though! I love getting new shoes. And I hate it when the USB drive won't let you get things off of it because it needs to be formatted. Ack!
